Matthew Tellor did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Springfield Sliders, reaching base three times. He scored one run and had two RBIs. He homered in the first inning.
The Quincy Gems couldn't get anything going as long as Rob McDonnell was on the mound. McDonnell held the Quincy Gems hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four.
Jeremy Holcombe recorded his second win of the year for the Springfield Sliders. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out three, walked nine and surrendered two hits.
