The Chillicothe Paints (29-19) and the Lorain County Ironmen (13-35) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Chillicothe Paints that eventually took advantage of them in a 4-2 win at The Pipe Yard.
It was a good day at the plate for the Chillicothe Paints' Jared Kujawa. Kujawa went 2-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He tripled in the third inning and singled in the ninth inning.
The Lorain County Ironmen couldn't get anything going as long as Jack Quigley was pitching. Quigley gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his 2 2/3 innings of work.
Michael Burke was hot from the plate for the Lorain County Ironmen. Burke went 3-5 and scored one run. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the first and ninth innings.
Chris Thomas got the win, running his season record to 6-0. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out four, walked one and surrendered seven hits.
Spencer Bryant (0-4) took the loss for the Lorain County Ironmen. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out six, and allowed four runs.
