Jake Mangler brought home the go-ahead run to give the Hannibal Cavemen (29-26) the lead in the seventh inning, as the Hannibal Cavemen hung on to beat the Danville Dans (15-40) 6-3 on Wednesday.
Derek Fletcher singled to start the seventh. He then went from first to second on a single by Roberto Gonzalez. Finally, Mangler came to the plate with the Hannibal Cavemen trailing by one in the seventh inning, and was hit by a pitch, plating Fletcher and Gonzalez.Zach Nichols racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Hannibal Cavemen. He singled in the sixth inning and homered in the seventh inning.
Zach Loraine recorded his first win of the year for the Hannibal Cavemen. Loraine struck out one, walked one and gave up one hit.
Max Homick was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out seven, and allowed five runs.
