An ace performance by Kris Gardner lifted the Hannibal Cavemen (27-24) to a 6-0 win over the Springfield Sliders (21-30) on Friday at Clemens Field.
Gardner kept the Springfield Sliders off the board during his seven innings of work. Gardner allowed three hits, no walks and struck out five.
The Hannibal Cavemen blew out the Springfield Sliders thanks to 11 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Hannibal Cavemen scored three runs in the eighth on an RBI single by Derek Fletcher and a two-run double by Jake Mangler.
The Hannibal Cavemen's Fletcher was perfect at the dish, going 2-2.
Max Frederick couldn't get it done on the mound for the Springfield Sliders, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
