Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Thursday as the Quincy Gems (20-13) outscored the Hannibal Cavemen (16-17) 11-9.
The teams totaled 27 hits in the game.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the seventh, with nine lead changes.
David Kuhne racked up four RBIs on four hits for the Quincy Gems. He doubled in the first inning, tripled in the second inning, and singled in the fourth and ninth innings.
Even though Cody Woodhouse allowed seven runs over seven innings he still recorded the victory, his third of the season. He struck out three, walked three and surrendered 12 hits.
Dustin Lawson (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked four, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
