An ace performance by Spencer Sapp spurred the Dubois County Bombers (2-0) to a 3-0 win over the Springfield Sliders (0-2) on Wednesday at League Stadium.
Sapp kept the Springfield Sliders off the board during his seven innings of work. Sapp allowed two hits, two walks and struck out eight.
Dalton Rouleau paced the Dubois County Bombers at the plate. Rouleau went 2-3 and scored one run. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the seventh inning.
A bright spot for the Springfield Sliders in the defeat was Adam Peters, who allowed only two runs while striking out six.
Peters ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year.
