The Danville Dans beat up on the Springfield Sliders, 19-5

The Danville Dans (9-22) continued to pile up the runs on Tuesday, scoring three runs in the last three innings, en route to an easy 19-5 win over the Springfield Sliders (11-20) at Danville Stadium.

The Danville Dans scored six runs in the sixth on a solo home run by Andrew Daniel, , a two-run single by Christopher Newcomb, a hit by pitch, and a hit by pitch.

Tyler Fullerton racked up six RBIs on four hits for the Danville Dans. He homered in the first inning, doubled in the fifth inning, and singled in the second and seventh innings.

Sean Gerber was solid at the plate for the Springfield Sliders. Gerber went 4-5 and scored two runs. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the first, sixth, and eighth innings.

Even though Trevor Fitts allowed five runs over five innings he still recorded the victory, his second of the season. He struck out six, walked three and surrendered eight hits.

Zachary Wittmus was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed 10 runs in five innings, walked two and struck out four.

The Danville Dans easily handled the Springfield Sliders pitching as six hitters combined for 14 hits, 14 RBIs and 16 runs scored.
