The Quincy Gems survive the Danville Dans 4-3 thanks to Brian's late-game heroics

Brandon Brian brought home the go-ahead run to give the Quincy Gems (14-11) the lead in the eighth inning, as the Quincy Gems hung on to beat the Danville Dans (7-18) 4-3 on Tuesday.

With the score tied at two, Brian came to the plate and singled, plating Nick Tindall and David Kuhne.

Zac Pearman handled the Danville Dans' lineup with ease, racking up six strikeouts. Pearman allowed two earned runs on four hits and two walks over six innings.

Wes Minton had a hot bat for the Danville Dans. Minton went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the sixth inning.

Charlie Kapala got the win, running his season record to 3-0. He allowed one run over 1 2/3 innings. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered two hits.

Ryan Keller couldn't get it done on the hill for the Danville Dans, taking a loss. He lasted just zero innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
