The Springfield Sliders seize victory thanks to late, drop the Danville Dans 8-5

The Springfield Sliders (7-16) outlasted the Danville Dans (7-16) on Saturday after seven lead changes, squeaking out a 8-5 win at Danville Stadium.

The Springfield Sliders took the lead in the second inning and held on for the victory. And gave the Springfield Sliders the lead for good.

David Kerian racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Springfield Sliders. He doubled in the first inning and tripled in the second inning.

Bradley Roney was hot from the plate for the Danville Dans. Roney went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He doubled in the first innings and singled in the seventh and ninth innings.

Jeremy Holcombe got his first win for the Springfield Sliders despite allowing five runs over five innings. Holcombe struck out nine, walked three and gave up five hits.

Andrew Alvarez ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in six innings, walked one and struck out four.
