The Chillicothe Paints defeat the West Virginia Miners after late game three-run blast, 6-5

After five lead changes in Monday's game at VA Memorial Stadium, the Chillicothe Paints (23-18) finally pulled out a 6-5 win over the West Virginia Miners (25-14).

The Chillicothe Paints would not relinquish the lead as the West Virginia Miners were unable to weather a two-run fourth inning deficit.

The West Virginia Miners scored one run in the fifth on a groundout by Tyler Wells. Unfortunately, the West Virginia Miners weren't able to take the lead back.

Ryan Cypret racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Chillicothe Paints. He homered in the fourth inning.

Tyler Backstrom got his fourth win for the Chillicothe Paints despite allowing five runs over five innings. Backstrom struck out three, walked one and gave up nine hits.

Will Blalock ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked two and struck out three.
