The Butler Blue Sox (21-12) and the Chillicothe Paints (19-14) exchanged the lead six times on Thursday, but the Butler Blue Sox ended up on top with a 7-6 win over the Chillicothe Paints.

The Butler Blue Sox staved off the Chillicothe Paints as the Chillicothe Paints were unable to match the Butler Blue Sox down the stretch.

The Chillicothe Paints scored on an RBI single by Jared Kujawa in the sixth inning, a solo home run by Aaron Hopper in the eighth inning, and an RBI single by Kevin Zak in the ninth inning. Still, the Chillicothe Paints couldn't draw even.

Neal Jacobs racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Butler Blue Sox. He homered in the sixth inning and singled in the eighth inning.

Even though Kyle Thomas allowed five runs over eight innings he still recorded the victory, his fourth of the season. Thomas struck out nine, walked none and gave up nine hits.

Jack Peck (0-1) took the loss for the Chillicothe Paints. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out six, and allowed five runs.
