Dan Zuchowski hit two home runs to carry the Chillicothe Paints (3-3) to a 10-3 win over the Slippery Rock Sliders (1-4) at VA Memorial Stadium.
The Chillicothe Paints blew out the Slippery Rock Sliders thanks to 16 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Chillicothe Paints scored three runs in the sixth on a two-run home run by Zuchowski and an RBI single by Jared Kujawa.
The Slippery Rock Sliders had no answer for Chris Thomas, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Thomas held the Slippery Rock Sliders hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
It was a good day at the plate for the Slippery Rock Sliders' Pat Guinane. Guinane went 2-4 and scored one run. He tripled in the second inning and singled in the fifth inning.
Juan Espinosa recorded his first win of the year for the Chillicothe Paints. He allowed three runs over five innings. Espinosa struck out four, walked three and gave up seven hits.
Shawn Patterson was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked two and struck out one.
The Chillicothe Paints' Kujawa, Cody Stevens, Zuchowski and Matt Fisher combined for 12 hits and 10 RBIs.
