The Chillicothe Paints (2-3) beat the Slippery Rock Sliders 9-3 on Saturday at VA Memorial Stadium after an eight-run explosion in the second inning.

Kevin Zak racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Chillicothe Paints. He homered in the second inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

Pichi Torres' seven strikeouts helped the Chillicothe Paints to the victory. Torres allowed two earned runs on four hits and no walks over seven innings.

Ryan Abernathy had two extra-base hits for the Slippery Rock Sliders (1-3). He singled in the first inning, doubled in the sixth inning, and tripled in the ninth inning.

Daniel Harms (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed eight runs in two innings, walked five and struck out one.
