The Slippery Rock Sliders survive the Butler Blue Sox 9-5 thanks to Lang's late-game heroics

Alex Lang brought home the go-ahead run to give the Slippery Rock Sliders (18-31) the lead in the sixth inning, as the Slippery Rock Sliders hung on to beat the Butler Blue Sox (27-22) 9-5 on Wednesday.

Steve Sulcoski reached on an error to start the sixth. He then went from first to second on a groundout by Jeff Revesz. Finally, Lang came to the plate with the score tied at three, and singled, scoring Sulcoski.

Ryan Abernathy racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Slippery Rock Sliders. He singled in the third, seventh, and ninth innings.

Max Deering picked up the win for the Slippery Rock Sliders. Deering pitched eight innings and allowed three earned runs, six hits and four walks while striking out four.

Elliott Caldwell racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Butler Blue Sox. He homered in the ninth inning.

Calyn Young was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked two and struck out five.
