An awesome effort by Sam Lewis led the West Virginia Miners (27-15) to a 5-2 win over the Butler Blue Sox on Thursday at Pullman Park.
Lewis struck out 11 hitters en route to the the West Virginia Miners win. Lewis allowed two earned runs, four hits and four walks over nine innings.
Clayton Prestridge was solid at the plate for the West Virginia Miners. Prestridge went 3-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He tripled in the fifth innings and singled in the first and seventh innings.
Kyle Thomas couldn't get it done on the hill for the Butler Blue Sox (27-17), taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
