An ace performance by James (LJ) Newman Jr. carried the Butler Blue Sox (23-13) to a 10-0 win over the Lorain County Ironmen (9-27) on Sunday at Pullman Park.

The Butler Blue Sox's (LJ) Newman Jr. kept the Lorain County Ironmen off the scoreboard for all nine innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on two hits while striking out six.

The Butler Blue Sox continued to pile on the runs until the end of the game. The Butler Blue Sox scored three runs in the final three innings to cap the blowout win. A triple by Kyle Petty and a three-run triple by Petty helped the Butler Blue Sox score four runs in the third. The Butler Blue Sox had two hits in the inning.

Petty racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Butler Blue Sox.

Tyler Plys (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked five and struck out one.
