Alex De La Rosa was cold coming off the bench, but De La Rosa warmed up quickly as De La Rosa stroked a key pinch-hit single in the 10 to lead the West Virginia Miners (15-8) to a 7-5 win over the Butler Blue Sox (14-9) on Saturday at Pullman Park.

With the score tied at five, De La Rosa came to the plate and singled.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the tenth, with six lead changes.

Bryant Noteboom got on base two times in the game for the West Virginia Miners. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the sixth inning.

Jared Messer improved to 3-1 on the year by picking up the win for the West Virginia Miners. He allowed one run over four innings. He struck out three, walked none and surrendered four hits.

Eric Dorsch (0-1) took the loss for the Butler Blue Sox. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed one run.
