Brett-Michael Doran drove in the winning run to give the Hyannis Harbor Hawks (9-17) the lead in the sixth inning, as the Hyannis Harbor Hawks hung on to beat the Orleans Firebirds (15-11) 9-5 on Sunday.
With the score tied at five in the sixth inning, Doran came to the plate and singled, scoring Brandon Trinkwon.Doran racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks. He homered in the third inning and singled in the sixth inning.
The Orleans Firebirds' lineup had no answer for Josh Walker. The Orleans Firebirds managed just two hits off of the the Hyannis Harbor Hawks' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his 3 2/3 innings of work.
Despite the loss, the Orleans Firebirds' Jerad Grundy dominated the Hyannis Harbor Hawks' batters, giving up two runs and striking out five.
Grundy (1-2) was the game's losing pitcher.
