The Bourne Braves (8-18) beat the Cotuit Kettleers 11-3 in eight innings on Sunday at Lowell Park after a six-run explosion in the first inning.
The Cotuit Kettleers (15-11) had no answer for Timothy Giel, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Giel held the Cotuit Kettleers hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out three.
Chad Green recorded his second win of the year for the Bourne Braves. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out seven, walked one and surrendered five hits.
Cameron Griffin was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
