The Brewster Whitecaps (9-12) and the Wareham Gatemen (10-11) each put runners in scoring position on Sunday, but the Brewster Whitecaps capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 5-2 win at Stony Brook.
Aaron Judge had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He homered in the fourth inning and doubled in the sixth inning.
Mott Hyde had a hot bat for the Wareham Gatemen. Hyde went 3-4 and drove in one. He singled in the first and seventh innings and doubled in the ninth inning.
James Leckenby got the win, running his season record to 2-1. He allowed one run over two innings. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered two hits.
Frederick Shepard couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Wareham Gatemen, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
