Thomas Lawrence held the Brewster Whitecaps (7-11) scoreless for six innings to boost the Chatham Anglers (10-8) to a 9-1 victory.
Lawrence struck out five and allowed no walks and six hits.
Seven runs in the opening three innings allowed the Chatham Anglers to easily put away the Brewster Whitecaps. A three-run double by Pat Valaika and an RBI double by Alex Calbick during the first inning and a three-run home run by Andrew Knapp in the second inning fueled the Chatham Anglers' offense early.
Knapp racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Chatham Anglers.
James Leckenby was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in 1 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out three.
