The Orleans Firebirds (13-4) trailed by one in the ninth, but Jake Hernandez was able to capture the lead back with a single in the ninth, spurring the Orleans Firebirds to a 5-4 win over the Chatham Anglers (9-8) at Veterans Field on Tuesday.
With the Orleans Firebirds trailing by one in the ninth inning, Hernandez came to the plate and singled, bringing home Cody Kulp and JT Riddle.
Hernandez racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Orleans Firebirds. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the ninth inning.
Matt Boyd pitched lights out for the Orleans Firebirds. Boyd held the Chatham Anglers hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
