A four-run seventh inning sealed an 8-2 win for the Falmouth Commodores (9-5) over the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (7-7) on Saturday at Arnie Allen Diamond.
Drew Dosch put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Falmouth Commodores. He doubled in the first inning and homered in the third inning.
The Falmouth Commodores got the win thanks in large part to Ben Wetzler's dominant, eight-strikeout performance. Wetzler allowed one earned run on five hits and three walks over six innings.
A bright spot for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox in the defeat was Andrew Thurman, who allowed only three runs while striking out nine.
Thurman (1-1) took the loss for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox.
