Corley's big day not enough as the Windy City ThunderBolts fall to the Gateway Grizzlies, 1-0

Tyson Corley struck out eight batters, but it wasn't enough to carry the Windy City ThunderBolts (49-38) to a win on Thursday, as the Windy City ThunderBolts fell to the Gateway Grizzlies (51-36) 1-0 at Standard Bank Stadium.

Chris McClendon helped the Gateway Grizzlies take the lead for good in the sixth inning. Richie Jimenez Jr. was hit by a pitch to start the sixth. He then went from first to second on a single by Jonathan Johnson. Finally, McClendon came to the plate with the game scoreless in the sixth inning and hit a sacrifice fly, bringing home Jimenez Jr.

Alex Kaminsky recorded his tenth win of the year for the Gateway Grizzlies. Kaminsky struck out seven, walked two and gave up three hits.

Corley was charged with his eighth loss of the year.
