The Florence Freedom (11-10) outlasted the Windy City ThunderBolts (12-7) on Sunday after five lead changes, squeaking out a 9-7 win at Standard Bank Stadium.

The Florence Freedom staved off the Windy City ThunderBolts as the Windy City ThunderBolts were unable to match the Florence Freedom down the stretch.

The Windy City ThunderBolts scored one run in the ninth on an RBI single by Bryan Burke. Despite their efforts, the Windy City ThunderBolts couldn't finish the comeback.

Chris Curley racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Florence Freedom. He singled in the fourth inning, homered in the seventh inning, and tripled in the ninth inning.

Jose Velazquez pitched lights out for the Florence Freedom. The Windy City ThunderBolts managed just one hit off of the the Florence Freedom's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his 2 1/3 innings of work.

Shane Zegarac (1-1) took the loss for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
