The Florence Freedom (11-10) outlasted the Windy City ThunderBolts (12-7) on Friday after four lead changes, squeaking out a 11-7 win at Standard Bank Stadium.
Eddie Rodriguez had a hot bat for the Florence Freedom. Rodriguez went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning.
Billy Nowlin racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He doubled in the second and third innings and singled in the seventh inning.
Mike Hanley got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed one run over 2 2/3 innings. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered three hits.
Dustin Williams ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out seven.
