The Windy City ThunderBolts (49-35) and the Washington Wild Things (35-49) passed the lead back and forth five times on Sunday at CONSOL Energy Park, but in the end the Windy City ThunderBolts pulled out a 6-5 win over the Washington Wild Things.

The Windy City ThunderBolts scored three runs in the first inning to build an early lead.

Mike Torres had two extra-base hits for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He doubled in the first and fifth innings and singled in the seventh inning.

Stephen Sauer got the win, running his season record to 7-6. He allowed four runs over six innings. He struck out seven, walked two and surrendered seven hits.

Chris Smith (8-6) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in 6 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out four.
