Eric Gonzalez-Diaz tossed eight scoreless innings to lift the Lake Erie Crushers (40-32) to a 1-0 win over the Washington Wild Things (30-41) at CONSOL Energy Park.

Adrian Ortiz had two extra-base hits for the Lake Erie Crushers. He homered in the first inning and doubled in the third inning.

Despite the loss, the Washington Wild Things' Jhonny Montoya dominated the Lake Erie Crushers' batters, giving up zero runs and striking out five.

Shawn Smith (1-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed one run.
