The Lake Erie Crushers get on top of the Washington Wild Things early but can't hang on in 3-2 loss

The Lake Erie Crushers (14-20) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 3-2 to the Washington Wild Things (14-19) on Saturday.

The Washington Wild Things took the lead in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Rick Devereaux.

Nick Cicio put together a nice outing. The Lake Erie Crushers managed just one hit off of Cicio, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his two innings of work.

Justin Hall improved to 2-3 on the year by picking up the win for the Washington Wild Things. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out five, walked four and surrendered seven hits.

Trevor Longfellow ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
