The Florence Freedom (18-13) and the Washington Wild Things (13-17) traded the lead five times on Wednesday, but the Florence Freedom ended up on top with a 4-3 win in 11 innings over the Washington Wild Things.

The Florence Freedom finally managed to grab the lead after a strong eleventh inning. Scored Eddie Rodriguez and gave the Florence Freedom the lead for good.

Chris Curley was hot from the plate for the Florence Freedom. Curley went 3-5. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the eleventh inning.

Alec Lewis pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, six hits and no walks while striking out one.

Jose Velazquez improved to 3-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Florence Freedom. Velazquez struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.

Alfonso Yevoli ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed one run.
