After eight lead changes in Thursday's game at RiverHawks Stadium, the Florence Freedom (44-37) finally pulled out a 6-5 win over the Rockford RiverHawks (34-47).
The Florence Freedom took the lead in the sixth inning and held on for the victory. An error scored John Malloy and gave the Florence Freedom the lead for good.
David Harris did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Florence Freedom, reaching base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He doubled in the first inning.
Brad Allen improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Florence Freedom. He struck out four, walked none and surrendered four hits.
Kyle Schepel was charged with his fifth loss of the year. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked seven and struck out two.
