The Rockford RiverHawks (15-24) trailed by five in the fourth, but Carlos Luciano was able to capture the lead back with a single in the seventh, spurring the Rockford RiverHawks to an 11-5 win over the Joliet Slammers (17-23) at RiverHawks Stadium on Saturday.

With the score tied at five, Luciano came to the plate and singled, bringing home Michael Hur.

Luciano was solid at the plate for the Rockford RiverHawks. Luciano went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second and seventh innings.

Everything was working at the plate for the the Rockford RiverHawks in the seventh. In the inning the Rockford RiverHawks scored nine runs.

Jet Butler racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Rockford RiverHawks. He doubled in the fifth inning and homered in the seventh inning.

Kyle Schepel looked sharp on the mound. The Joliet Slammers managed just two hits off of Schepel, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out five during his five innings of work.

Andrew Armstrong improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Rockford RiverHawks. Armstrong struck out none, walked two and gave up no hits.

Geoff Brown (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
