The River City Rascals seize victory thanks to late single, drop the Windy City ThunderBolts 6-5

The River City Rascals (45-50) took the last of four lead changes in a back-and-forth affair against the Windy City ThunderBolts (54-42), securing a 6-5 victory on Sunday at T. R. Hughes Ballpark.

Jason Patton had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the third and fifth innings.

Mike Recchia was effective even in defeat, mowing down five the River City Rascals batters and allowing zero runs.

Justin Gill improved to 4-3 on the year by picking up the win for the River City Rascals. He allowed one run over 2 2/3 innings. Gill struck out two, walked one and gave up four hits.

Andy Mee was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.

The River City Rascals were sparked by Patton and Jeremy Synan, who teamed up for five hits and three RBIs.
