The Florence Freedom make the most of 13 hits in 10-6 victory over the Normal CornBelters

The Florence Freedom (53-39) and the Normal CornBelters (28-64) both had scoring chances on Wednesday, but it was the Florence Freedom that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 10-6 win at The Corn Crib.

John Malloy put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Florence Freedom. He homered in the second inning and tripled in the seventh inning.

Bobby Rinard racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Normal CornBelters. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the second and eighth innings.

Brent Choban recorded his second win of the year for the Florence Freedom. He allowed one run over two innings. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered four hits.

Jacob Liedka couldn't get it done on the mound for the Normal CornBelters, taking a loss. He allowed nine runs in 6 2/3 innings, walked seven and struck out six.

The Florence Freedom's Peter Fatse, Kyle Bluestein, David Harris and Malloy combined for eight hits and seven RBIs.
