The Florence Freedom (52-39) pounded the Normal CornBelters (28-63) on Tuesday 9-1 at The Corn Crib.

The Florence Freedom scored three runs in the fourth on an error, a groundout by Eddie Rodriguez, and a groundout by Drew Rundle.

Pierre LePage racked up two RBIs on four hits for the Florence Freedom. He singled in the second, third, and fifth innings and doubled in the ninth inning.

Brad Allen picked up the win for the Florence Freedom. Allen pitched seven innings and allowed no earned runs, four hits and one walk while striking out five.

Despite the loss, the Normal CornBelters' Brendon Smith dominated the Florence Freedom's batters, giving up two runs and striking out five.

Tyler Lavigne ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his ninth loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked two and struck out five.
