The Schaumburg Boomers (43-33) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 6-1 to the Traverse City Beach Bums (49-27) on Friday.

An RBI double by Jose Vargas gave the Traverse City Beach Bums the lead in the fifth inning.

Jeff Flagg racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

Jacob Clem picked up the win for the Traverse City Beach Bums. Clem pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, five hits and one walk while striking out two.

Steve McQuail was hot from the plate for the Schaumburg Boomers. McQuail went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the second inning.

Cameron Roth couldn't get it done on the mound for the Schaumburg Boomers, taking a loss. He lasted just five innings, walked five, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
