Down six runs in the fourth, the Joliet Slammers (26-34) recovered thanks to Kyle Maunus's solo home run in the twelfth, and pulled out a 7-6 win over the Traverse City Beach Bums (38-22) on Tuesday at Wuerfel Park.
With the score tied at six in the twelfth inning, Maunus came to the plate and homered.
Maunus had two extra-base hits for the Joliet Slammers. He doubled in the eighth inning, singled in the ninth inning, and homered in the twelfth inning.
Justin Albert had an impressive outing against the Traverse City Beach Bums' lineup. The Traverse City Beach Bums managed just two hits off of Albert, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his five innings of work.
Jason Mattila couldn't get it done on the bump for the Traverse City Beach Bums, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed one run.
The Joliet Slammers were sparked by David Christensen and Maunus, who teamed up for eight hits and three RBIs.
