The Washington Wild Things (14-22) weren't able to overcome the big hole they dug themselves into against the Traverse City Beach Bums (25-12), and the Washington Wild Things lost 5-4 to the Traverse City Beach Bums after falling behind by five runs in the sixth inning.

The Washington Wild Things scored four runs in the ninth on an RBI single by Eric Blackwell and a three-run triple by Johnathan Erb. Despite their efforts, the Washington Wild Things couldn't finish the comeback.

Jose Vargas racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He singled in the third and fourth innings and homered in the sixth inning.

Erb racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Washington Wild Things. He tripled in the ninth inning.

Jacob Clem got the win, running his season record to 3-3. He allowed four runs over eight innings. He struck out one, walked two and surrendered seven hits.

Chris Smith was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked five, struck out five, and allowed five runs.
