The Joliet Slammers (30-42) and the Schaumburg Boomers (41-31) passed the lead back and forth six times on Sunday at Schaumburg Baseball Stadium, but in the end the Joliet Slammers pulled out an 11-6 win over the Schaumburg Boomers.
Josh Lyon racked up five RBIs on three hits for the Joliet Slammers. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth and ninth innings.
Chase Doremus had an impressive outing against the Schaumburg Boomers' lineup. Doremus held the Schaumburg Boomers hitless over 2 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.
