Steven Maxwell kept the Schaumburg Boomers (41-29) off the board during his eight innings of work and the Joliet Slammers (28-42) beat the Schaumburg Boomers, 2-0.

Maxwell struck out three and allowed four walks and three hits.

David Fox helped the Joliet Slammers take the lead for good in the seventh inning. With the game scoreless in the seventh inning Fox came to the plate and homered, plating Josh Lyon.

Fox racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Joliet Slammers. He homered in the seventh inning.

Matt Kuna (2-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out five, and allowed two runs.
