The Traverse City Beach Bums (28-12) and the Schaumburg Boomers (25-15) passed the lead back and forth four times on Saturday at Boomers Stadium, but in the end the Traverse City Beach Bums pulled out a 5-3 win over the Schaumburg Boomers.

Jose Vargas racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He homered in the first inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Brooks Belter got the win, running his season record to 5-0. He allowed three runs over seven innings. He struck out three, walked two and surrendered six hits.

Robbie Penny ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out six, and allowed four runs.
