Things looked bleak for the Windy City ThunderBolts (25-17) when they trailed by three runs in the seventh inning, but the Windy City ThunderBolts recovered thanks to a key home run in the ninth inning from Chad Cregar to pull out a 7-6 win over the London Rippers (17-27) at Labatt Park.

With the Windy City ThunderBolts trailing by two in the ninth inning, Cregar came to the plate and hit a grand slam, plating Travis Weaver, Bob Glover and Chris Wade.

Cregar racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He singled in the eighth inning and homered in the ninth inning.

The Windy City ThunderBolts staved off the London Rippers as the London Rippers were unable to match the Windy City ThunderBolts down the stretch.

The London Rippers scored one run in the ninth on a groundout by Matt Wright. Despite their efforts, the London Rippers couldn't finish the comeback.

Mark Kuzma recorded his first win of the year for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered no hits.

David Francis couldn't get it done on the hill for the London Rippers, taking a loss. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
