The London Rippers survive the Joliet Slammers 5-4 thanks to Brodin's late-game heroics

Joash Brodin drove in the go-ahead run to give the London Rippers (10-10) the lead in the seventh inning, as the London Rippers hung on to beat the Joliet Slammers (10-10) 5-4 on Saturday.

Aaron Glaum singled to start the seventh. He then went from second to third on a wild pitch. Finally, Brodin came to the plate with the London Rippers trailing by one in the seventh inning, and homered, bringing home Glaum and Jim Vahalik.

Brodin racked up three RBIs on one hit for the London Rippers. He homered in the seventh inning.

The London Rippers held off the Joliet Slammers, as the Joliet Slammers were unable to overcome a two-run seventh inning deficit.

The Joliet Slammers scored one run in the eighth on an RBI single by David Fox. Still, the Joliet Slammers couldn't catch the London Rippers.

Andrew Chilcoat recorded his first win of the year for the London Rippers. He allowed one run over one inning. Chilcoat struck out none, walked none and gave up three hits.

Jim Schult ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
