Chad Cregar hit two home runs to carry the Windy City ThunderBolts (34-22) to a 6-5 win over the Joliet Slammers (24-33) at Silver Cross Field.

The Windy City ThunderBolts held off the Joliet Slammers, as the Joliet Slammers were unable to overcome a four-run fifth inning deficit.

The Joliet Slammers scored on a two-run single by Erik Lis in the fifth inning and a groundout by Hector Pellot in the sixth inning. Still, the Joliet Slammers couldn't catch the Windy City ThunderBolts.

Blayne Weller improved to 4-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He allowed four runs over five innings. Weller struck out eight, walked three and gave up seven hits.

Tommy Mendoza was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
