Five runs in the opening three innings allowed the Joliet Slammers to easily put away the Normal CornBelters. A solo home run by Erik Lis in the first inning supplied the early offense for the Joliet Slammers.
Lis got a hit in each of his four at bats.
Daniel Britt (3-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
The Joliet Slammers were sparked by Abel Nieves and Lis, who teamed up for six hits and six RBIs.
