An impressive effort by Mike Recchia carried the Windy City ThunderBolts (44-30) to a 2-1 win in 10 innings over the Florence Freedom (40-35) on Thursday at Home of the Florence Freedom.

Recchia baffled the Florence Freedom, striking out 14 batters. Recchia allowed no earned runs on three hits and one walk over eight innings.

Ryan Cuneo helped the Windy City ThunderBolts pull ahead for the duration in the tenth inning. After C.J. Gillman doubled, Cuneo came to the plate with the score tied at one in the tenth inning, and doubled, plating Gillman.

Jareck West did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Windy City ThunderBolts, reaching base three times. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the seventh inning.

Willy Kesler recorded his first win of the year for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He struck out three, walked none and surrendered no hits.

Matt Kline couldn't get it done on the mound for the Florence Freedom, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed one run.
