The Evansville Otters (28-37) and the Florence Freedom (35-30) volleyed the lead five times on Sunday, but the Evansville Otters came out on top for a 6-5 win on Sunday at Home of the Florence Freedom.

The Evansville Otters pulled out the win thanks to a strong fifth inning. A sacrifice fly by Runey Davis scored Greg Fontenot and Luis Parache and gave the Evansville Otters the lead for good.

The Evansville Otters would not relinquish the lead as the Florence Freedom were unable to weather a four-run fifth inning deficit.

The Florence Freedom scored on an RBI single by Jose Velazquez in the fifth inning and an RBI single by Edwin Padua and an RBI single by Drew Rundle in the seventh inning. Still, the Florence Freedom couldn't catch the Evansville Otters.

DeAngelo Mack racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Evansville Otters. He singled in the fourth and fifth innings.

Matt Crim recorded his second win of the year for the Evansville Otters. He allowed three runs over five innings. Crim struck out four, walked three and gave up five hits.

Brent Choban couldn't get it done on the mound for the Florence Freedom, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
