The Florence Freedom (18-13) weren't able to overcome the big hole they dug themselves into against the Washington Wild Things (13-17), and the Florence Freedom lost 4-3 to the Washington Wild Things after falling behind by three runs in the third inning.

The Florence Freedom scored on an RBI double by Jim Jacquot in the sixth inning and a two-run single by Pierre LePage in the ninth inning. Still, the Florence Freedom couldn't catch the Washington Wild Things.

Andrew Heck had a hot bat for the Washington Wild Things. Heck went 3-5 and scored two runs. He singled in the third and seventh innings.

Jhonny Montoya brought the heat against the Florence Freedom during his outing. The Florence Freedom managed just three hits off of the the Washington Wild Things' pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked four and struck out four during his six innings of work.

Daniel DeSimone ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
