John Malloy had two extra base hits, helping the Florence Freedom (55-39) to a 7-2 victory over the Evansville Otters (45-48) on Friday at Bosse Field.
He homered in the eighth inning and doubled in the ninth inning.The Florence Freedom relied on Andy Clark to eat up innings en route to the win. Clark allowed two earned runs, five hits and no walks while striking out five over nine innings of work.
Nick Schwaner was solid at the plate for the Evansville Otters. Schwaner went 2-4 and scored one run. He singled in the first innings and doubled in the ninth inning.
Matt Zielinski (7-7) took the loss for the Evansville Otters. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
