The Evansville Otters (31-37) outlasted the Joliet Slammers (27-41) on Wednesday after four lead changes, squeaking out a 6-3 win at Bosse Field.
The Evansville Otters took the lead in the seventh inning and held on for the victory. A hit by pitch scored Nick Schwaner and Luis Uribe and gave the Evansville Otters the lead for good.
Uribe reached base two times in the game for the Evansville Otters. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He homered in the third inning.
Matt Zielinski picked up the win for the Evansville Otters. Zielinski allowed three earned runs, five hits and two walks while striking out four over seven innings of work.
Patrick Norris was solid at the plate for the Joliet Slammers. Norris went 3-4 and scored one run. He singled in the first, third, and fifth innings.
Mike Barsotti ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked two, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
